Content organization

I'm working on my other pieces of work, so I'm not sure where they are going yet, if I'm putting them on anyway.

Final Concept

My final concept is taking some of the major media markets as categories of my work. There are "formats" in radio which describe what kind of station they are, such as country, top 40, CHR, news, sports.. and using these to describe my work.

I'm using L.A in California for my CHR/Top 40 work.
Philadelphia in PA for my rock work.
Raleigh North Carolina for country.
Chicago, IL for any videos of my show I decide to put up.
New York City for my air-checks

Then I'm using Trenton, NJ for my bio, resume, and demo reel cause it's my hometown.

What I want to do is when you click on the state, a box drops down where you see the list of work, and you can click on what you want to hear or see.

The colors I want to use are blues, and neutral browns to tone them down and make the blues pop (maybe add some green I don't know yet).

I'm not sure what fonts I want to use, maybe a handwritten font but again not sure yet.

I don't want the lines on the page to be strong, kind of curvy but not too extreme.

Concept for portfolio.

The concept that I thought to use was a map of "localism" which is the one factor I love about radio (such as AM and FM). It stays within your community, helps with local events, gives you traffic and weather, and news about your neighborhood. Music is generally categorized too, and different areas have generally, a tendency to have multiple stations with the same format (or slight difference). For instance, in Hamilton, NJ, we get Q102 and PST which are pretty much CHR or Hit music with each station have a slight twist. We also have 94.1 and 93.3 which plays rock, but different kinds of rock.

What I want to do is map out the 4 or 5 biggest media markets, and categorize my work by what cities they are. If the biggest media markets are too close together, maybe I'll just do a West Coast city, 2 East Coast cities, and like a popular southern city.

I think that it will give me a way to organize my promotions for the formats of stations that they were intended and also give away the point that I love local radio. I like all different kinds of genres and I think that this will give me an opportunity to experiment with different styles of what my voice can do for copy, promotions, and airchecks.

My must have elements

The elements that I need are my contact info, resume (which would take care of my experience portion).

I'm considering doing a biography portion because I should sell "myself" in this portfolio and what I'm about so maybe doing a voice-over for the biography wouldn't be such a bad idea after all..

The other things I would want is my demo reel on the first page. I would also want ways to access full pieces of work. The full pieces of work will tie into the concept I have on the other post in this blog, where a couple full pieces of work will be attached to each city.

I want to definitely have air-checks (telescoped versions of radio shows for DJ's) in case that would be of importance. You never know if you could go from v/o to DJ.

Maybe it would be kind of cool to do a video of a show that me and my friend Tyann do on Viking 89 just so people can see what goes into a show. (I can edit video on premiere so I would do it myself =] )

This voice over was made to have the listeners of the radio station aware of the promotion. I made it kind of busy sounding and fun so people would want to either enter the competition or come and watch people compete. It's supposed to reach men and women ages 18-29, kind of a younger demographic.
